Design

Design separates a good newspaper (and yearbook) from a great one. I have had the opportunity to design many newspaper and yearbook spreads over the years and have grown accustomed to trying my hand at design as much as possible. The greatest stories can be hidden if it's surrounded by a lackluster design.

Winter Sports Recap

This spread was published in my high schools March 3, 2022 edition of the North Star. I helped teach one of our staffers design since this was the first spread that she worked on. I put together the spread while showing her the basics of InDesign. A link to the PDF version of this spread can be found here.

School Safety

After a gun was pulled at one of the basketball games at my school, I decided to write a story and design a yearbook spread about how school safety is a national issue that needed to be addressed ASAP. A link to a PDF version of this spread can be found here.

Yearbook Colophon

Our yearbook’s colophon highlights everyone who helped make the book possible with a quote that asked them a what-if question since "What if" was that year’s theme. They also all wore the same shirt and posed any way they wanted. A link to a PDF version of this spread can be found here.
